As you know, we lost many records in the hurricane. We are in the process of updating our membership list. We have been sending our newsletters to everyone who was a member prior to the hurricane. Many of these letters were returned with no forwarding address. If we had three letters returned, we removed you from our mailing list. If you received a letter this week, you will see your membership status according to our records. If you are a lifetime member, you are good, but if your membership has expired, you will need to renew it. To do this, simply click on the link below and you will be directed to our Shopify store where you can renew the membership. You can also renew the membership at our annual meeting on Monday, March 11 at 1:00 at Bonita Bills (See article below).
Our annual meeting will be held on Monday, March 11 at 1:00 at Bonita Bills. Our guest speaker will be a docent from the Korshan State Park who will talk about the influence the Korshans had on our island.
On March 10, the Estero Island Historic Society will co-sponsor the Blessing of the Fleet with St. Raphael's Church.This ceremony was first held in 1952 and became part of the Shrimp Festival the next year.
Rev. Michael Rowe will conduct a short service of prayer and songs beginning at 11 AM on Sunday, March 10.
Afterwards, he will walk along the docks and individually bless each boat that is in port.
St. Raphael's Church will be selling their famous peel and eat shrimp after the Blessing.
The Blessing will be held at the Erickson and Jenson Shrimp Docks on Main Street. Follow the signs.
